A Redmi Note 8 competitor?

Realme is all set to launch its first true flagship, the Realme X2 Pro in India on November 20. It’s now confirmed that the company will launch another smartphone called the Realme 5s on the same day.

Indian ecommerce platform Flipkart has put up a dedicated page on its website confirming the launch of the Realme 5s on November 20. The webpage also confirms a 48MP quad camera setup on the phone.

What this tells us is that the Realme 5s could possibly sit somewhere between the Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro. Its 48MP camera setup is definitely an upgrade from the 12MP-led quad-cam module on the Realme 5.

If the camera setup of the Realme 5s is the same as the Realme 5 Pro, then it could sport additional 8MP (ultra-wide) + 2MP (macro) + 2MP (depth) sensors to complete the quad camera setup.

The design of the new phone also looks pretty similar to the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro, what with the Diamond pattern on the back. The teaser shows a Red color variant of the upcoming phone, which is something we haven’t seen on the previous devices in the series.

The placement of the fingerprint scanner on the back seems unchanged.

Editor's Pick

Not much else is known about the Realme 5s, but it could be a Redmi Note 8 competitor when it launches in the Indian market.

We’ll let you know more about the phone as and when the company shares more information about it.

For now, it looks like another Realme phone that aims to take on competition from Xiaomi.
