Earlier today, Google made several changes to its developer preview site referencing Android 11, only to promptly revert the page to its former state. This could have happened for several reasons but was likely a simple mistake by someone on the developer preview team.
Android Police managed to grab a screenshot of the page before Google reverted the changes. Here it is compared to the developer preview site now:
The bulk of the content wasn’t changed from Android 10‘s developer preview information. The only real changes appeared to be superficial, changing the Android 10 moniker to Android 11 throughout the page.
We don’t know when the Android 11 preview will land, but it can’t be far off. This misstep likely means Google is inching its way toward announcing the next Android milestone (or at least giving us an early look at it).
Last year’s first Android 10 preview landed in the second week of March. With that, we can probably expect the first Android 11 developer preview to land in the coming weeks.
