Today, Google unveiled a new feature for its Search product. Dubbed “Hum to Search,” it allows you to decipher a song simply by humming the melody into your phone.
Previously, Google Assistant could quickly decipher songs playing around you. All you needed to do is say, “Hey Google, what’s this song?” and it would listen and let you know. Now, though, you don’t even need the song — just do your best to hum what you know and Google will do its best to match it up.

If this sounds familiar, it’s because SoundHound has had this feature for years. However, it’s possible that Google’s system might be more accurate than SoundHound’s.
