The Asus ROG Phone series has established itself as the top gaming phone around, owing to flagship internals, a high refresh rate, big batteries, and extra inputs. We’ve been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Asus ROG Phone 3, and it looks like we won’t have to wait much longer.
Asus and Tencent Games both uploaded a poster to Weibo that confirms a July launch window for the ROG Phone 3. The firms didn’t give us an exact date though. Nevertheless, the duo confirmed plans to cooperate in China too, presumably meaning we’ll see a Tencent-branded device in the market. Check out the poster below.
News of the July launch window comes a few days after the phone was listed on China’s TENAA regulatory website. The listing points to an overclocked Snapdragon 865 chipset, up to 16GB of RAM, a 6,000mAh battery, and a 64MP main camera.
The latter feature was corroborated by a real-world image of the supposed ROG Phone 3 that surfaced last week. The image shows 64MP branding on the back of the phone, as well as what appears to be a triple rear camera combo.
There’s no word on pricing just yet, but the ROG Phone 2 retailed for $899 globally. So we’d expect a similar price (if not slightly higher) for the new phone when it eventually leaves China.
