The Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL have endured their fair share of criticism since launch, but there’s no denying the search giant has crafted a great pair of phones once again. Unlike some phones with higher refresh rate displays like the OnePlus 7T, you don’t have to wrestle with adb commands to force the max refresh rate on the Google Pixel 4. Instead, you just have to jump into the phone’s Developer options. You can read about how to do that here, or follow the step-by-step guide below:

1. Open Settings > About phone
2. Scroll down to Build number and tap on it five times.
3. If you have a PIN lock you will need to enter it to enable Developer options.
4. Now go to Settings > System > Advanced > Developer options.
5. Scroll down to Debugging and the penultimate setting Force 90Hz refresh rate.
6. Tap Force 90Hz refresh rate and hit the toggle to enable it.
