Need more mobile data Google Search can now help you out - Android

There are many ways to top up your phone plan, but Google is adding one more option.

Google will let you top up your prepaid SIM card via Search.

Between USSD codes, official apps, and bank clients, there are plenty of ways to recharge your phone’s prepaid plan. But Google thinks it can do better, and it’s now bringing another way to top up your plan in India.

The company has announced the ability to browse for and purchase prepaid phone plans via Google Search on Android. All you need to do is search for “sim recharge” or “prepaid mobile recharge” (or another similar query) and you’ll be able to browse, compare, and purchase various prepaid plans.

Once you’ve found your desired recharge option, Google says you can use the mobile wallet or payment provider of your choice to conduct the purchase. More specifically, the search giant says the likes of Google Pay, Paytm, Mobikwik, and FreeCharge can be used.

The experience currently supports Airtel, Vodafone-Idea, Jio, and BSNL. Unfortunately, this feature isn’t available outside India right now, but we’ve contacted Google to find out if they plan to bring it to more markets.

Either way, we’re glad to see these integrations make their way into Google Search, as it could streamline prepaid topups for many users. Now, about Google bringing prepaid electricity plans and other services into the fold too.
