After a few weeks of open beta testing, OnePlus has announced it has started rolling out its major Oxygen 11 OS update to its OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro phones. The over-the-air update will be available to a few owners of those phones today, but will gradually expand to more phones over the next few days.

OnePlus says that if your OnePlus 8 or OnePlus 8 Pro phone gets the update notification, you should make sure the phone has at least 30% of its battery charge. Also, you should have at least 3GB of free storage space available on the phone.
While the Oxygen 11 OS skin is based on Android 11, this is a major design change that deviates from the near-stock Android look from previous versions. It even adds a new OnePlus Sans font for better readability. Other new features include the long-awaited always-on ambient display. The release also offers improvements for many apps and features, including Dark Mode, the Weather app, and Zen Mode. There are also many improvements for gamers, including a quick reply for Instagram and WhatsApp.
The Oxygen 11 OS update will roll out sometime in the future for many older phones. They include the OnePlus 7T Pro, OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7Pro, OnePlus 7, OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 6, and OnePlus Nord. It’s expected to be available out of the box for the upcoming OnePlus 8T.
