In a surprise announcement, Canadian-American actor, writer, and producer Ryan Reynolds revealed that his business endeavors now include more than just gin. Today, Mint Mobile shared that Reynolds has purchased an ownership stake in the company. Thanks to Reynolds’ marketing prowess, Mint’s CEO David Glickman thinks this is a great opportunity for the company moving forward.
“It’s fitting that the most disruptive wireless company is now owned by the most innovative marketer on the planet,” Glickman said in a press release.
In a world where celebrities typically invest in high-end products or “delicious gin companies,” Reynolds said this out-of-the-box business move excites him, especially since he believes the average American pays too much for their wireless plan.
“Mint is making wireless way more affordable,” said Reynolds. “I’m excited to champion a more practical approach to the most essential technology.”
Moving forward, Ryan Reynolds will help with Mint’s overall marketing efforts and strategic planning. What that all entails, only time will tell.
