On February 11, we expect Samsung to launch the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus alongside the new Galaxy S20 smartphones. Although we already know quite a bit about the upcoming true wireless earbuds, we now have some new info about some features the headphones will likely have.

The leaked info comes courtesy of Max Weinbach, who has been leaking Samsung information left and right these days.

First up, it appears the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus will directly integrate with Spotify. According to a leaked video (mirrored below), a long-press on one of the touch-capacitive earbuds will launch Spotify for you:

This will be super convenient for those users who love Spotify. However, the question remains whether the function will also work for other music streaming services.

Additionally, there will be some sort of gaming mode linked to the Galaxy Buds Plus. This feature is quite mysterious, as all we have to go on is a leaked icon that shows a Galaxy Bud with a game controller next to it. It’s possible there will be some sort of software tweak that will make gaming sounds more optimized for the Galaxy Buds, but that’s just a guess at this point.

Finally, Weinbach provides an image that suggests the front of the case for the Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus will light up in different colors depending on the battery status of the Buds. Green will mean the battery level is high, yellow will mean the battery level is getting low, and red will mean the batteries need to be charged ASAP. It’s strange that Weinbach shared this, though, as the original Galaxy Buds case also has this feature.

We expect pre-orders for the Galaxy S20 smartphones to come with a free set of Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus. So if you were planning on grabbing a phone on launch day, you’ll likely get a free set of these as a sweet perk.
