Apple’s ‘Hi, Speed’ event invitation is here, welcoming all to a virtual event on Tuesday, October 13.
We can reasonably expect Apple will show off new and fast things. (We don’t think Apple is greeting ‘Speed’, the bus that couldn’t slow down movie).
One, two three… is that four rings?
Busy times:
2. After a 16-month probe, the House Judiciary Committee finds Google, Apple, Amazon, Facebook wield ‘monopoly power’ in different ways that demand changes (Android Authority).
3. Apple says it vehemently disagrees with the conclusions (MacRumors), Amazon too (Amazon blog) no official word from Facebook or Google yet.
4. What will come of this? Read all 449 pages of the report here (judiciary.house.gov). (Android Authority is a reference on page 95!)
5. Teracube 2e: This phone has a 4-year warranty, replaceable battery, and costs $99 right now (Android Authority).
6. Of course Razer made a light-up prepaid credit card (The Verge).
7. Japan’s Super Nintendo World will open in spring 2021 (The Verge).
8. The Supreme Court hears Oracle v. Google today — here’s what’s at stake (Ars Technica).
9. Boom’s XB-1 supersonic plane reveal: How to watch live, start time (CNET).
10. This year’s hole in the ozone layer is twice the size of the US, a big one due to extra cold Antarctic vortex (Gizmodo).
11. Three scientists win Nobel Physics Prize for groundbreaking black hole work (Ars Technica).
12. “Why do people stack their pancakes and pour syrup on?” (r/nostupidquestions). Genuinely a wonderfully simply question.
