Transfers of Google Play Music library to YouTube Music are starting now - Android

The ability to transfer Google Play Music files to YouTube Music is now live for some.
It’s easy to check if your account is eligible. If it isn’t, you’ll probably only need to wait a few days at most.

Although you may have yet to make peace with the inevitable death of Google Play Music, at least Google is making the transition easy. Today, the ability to transfer Google Play Music music files to YouTube Music is live — at least for some users.

If the tool isn’t active for you yet, don’t worry. You’ll probably only need to wait a day or two for the feature to go live for your account.

Theoretically, you should be able to transfer Google Play Music files from within the YouTube Music app as well. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case, at least not yet. For now, initiating a transfer through the web portal is the only way to do it.
