We asked, you told us - Holy hell you like Spigen cases - Android

Out of over 1,800 total votes, the vast majority of you said Spigen is your go-to case maker.

Companies spend a lot of time, effort, and resources to make their new smartphones as beautiful as possible, but the majority of people end up throwing a case on their phones anyway. Do you blame them? A piece of cheap plastic can protect your new ~$1,000 investment from certain death if you’re the clumsy type. It’s a shame these beautiful phone designs get covered up so frequently, but what can you do?

I just bought a new phone case for my Pixel 4 XL, so I wanted to ask about your go-to phone case brand. Are you a Spigen, Otterbox, or Speck fan? Do you even use a phone case? I asked you last Monday about this, and it’s clear you all had some feelings.

Who is your go-to phone case manufacturer?

Out of over 1,800 total votes, the vast majority of Android Authority readers (38.1%) voted for Spigen. That’s not a huge surprise to us — Spigen dominates the Amazon charts and offers a pretty wide variety of cases for cheap. They’re also available for just about every phone you can think of.

A distant second with 12.2% of the votes goes to the “I have no allegiance to one particular brand” crowd. Third place with 8.6% of the votes goes to first-party cases, like ones from Samsung, Google, or other smartphone OEMs.

Otterbox is another popular one amongst our readers, garnering 5.6% of the votes. Finally, the “I just choose whatever’s cheapest” crowd made up 6.2% of the votes this time around.

WAPC1: Rhinoshield, I can attest to their durability to withstand drops from great heights onto concrete and the phone to survive. It’s a shame they are so apple/samsung/google centric.
Just some tech: I usually go for first party, but Dbrand grip is a nice option as well
Dushu VacadePlus: Whatever no-name Chinese brand fits my needs at the particular moment. Usually going for soft rubberized black cases.
Marshall: Used to be Case-Mate but its range and care factor has been diminishing for years. Tried Nillkin on my old Xperia Z3 but it was pretty flimsy. Had Incipio on a Nokia 640 years ago because it was the best available for the phone… pretty mediocre case. So now it’s Spigen or Supcase, depending on my choice of handset at the time. Together they have a good choice, but neither of them cover all models. I’d like to try a UAG Plasma or similar but UAGs range would need to improve, they only cover the OEMs you’d expect.
Fritzkier: Nillkin is a good one, and cheap too.
Jarvy: I like Spigen the most. Although most of these brands don’t cater far outside of Apple and Samsung.
Allyn K C: I switched to Ringke last summer, and love the thin design, clear case, and good corner/edge bumpers. As a bonus, I found the optional wrist-straps to be useful while I was on vacation (extra security while bumping over waves on a boat) – then removed them when I got home so they wouldn’t get in the way when not needed.
John P.: After trying many of the known brands out there ( Ringke, Spigen, UAG, Speck, Incipio, Tech21, RhinoShield etc.), my preferred case manufacturer is RhinoShield due to slim design, really solid drop protection and quality materials. Other recommendations would be Tech21 ( don’t like their designs) and Catalyst ( Really good drop protection). Apart from Rhinoshield, my first choice is Mous as they make the best cases out there. The only issue is, they don’t favor android devices.
