Why didn’t OnePlus release this striking gold OnePlus 7T colorway - Android

The OnePlus 7T is definitely in the running for one of the best smartphones of 2019, owing to its triple rear camera setup, 90Hz display, and fast internals. This device is only available in Glacial Blue and Frosted Silver, but a OnePlus executive has shown us one rather striking unreleased color option.

OnePlus designer Hao Ran posted an image of a gold OnePlus 7T color option on Weibo (h/t: India Shopps), and it certainly makes for an eye-catching choice. This color scheme definitely differs from the Rose Gold option seen on other devices, taking on an almost orange appearance. Check it out below.

The OnePlus designer notes that a gold OnePlus 7T wasn’t the only color option discussed before launching the phone. In fact, Ran says they looked at “dozens” of color schemes during the color selection process.

Hopefully we see this and other unreleased colorways in the near future, be it on the OnePlus 7T or on 2020 devices. Either way, I’m glad to see manufacturers embracing more than just black and white in recent years.
