Xiaomi users rejoice! MIUI 11 is finally adding an app drawer - Android

Rolling out now in China

The saying “good things to come to those who wait” must be true after all because Xiaomi phones are finally getting an app drawer thanks to an upcoming MIUI 11 update.

For the longest time, Xiaomi forced MIUI users to list apps on their home screens, iOS-style. However, with the addition of a dedicated app drawer in MIUI 11, users will now be able to view all their apps in a separate drawer just like pretty much every other Android phone.

The app drawer on MIUI 11 is being made available through a new MIUI launcher update, Xiaomi confirmed on Weibo. The company says users will be able to choose between a classic mode and the new drawer mode through the home screen settings.

Swiping up on the home screen will open the app drawer on MIUI 11. The most recently used apps will appear on top of the app drawer.

Editor's Pick

It looks like the feature is currently rolling out to MIUI 11 users in China. Xiaomi hasn’t announced the feature for the Global Stable ROM yet, but if it shouldn’t be too far behind for users in India, Europe, and other regions. We’ll be sure to let you know when the MIUI app drawer rolls out more widely.
