Latest update, June 12, 2019 (11:45 AM ET): The newest update for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will bring the June 2019 security patch (via SamMobile). It will also bring the Night Mode camera present on the Samsung Galaxy S10 series.
When Samsung revealed Night Mode on the Galaxy S10 series, we had hoped it would bring the camera feature to earlier handsets. It looks like that is going to happen! We should now expect the Night Mode feature to land on the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 next.
As of now, the new update for the Galaxy S9 is rolling out in Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines. It will come to more areas of the world soon.

The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus launched with Android Oreo, before being updated to Android Pie earlier in 2019. Like most Android flagships, these are expected to receive two major updates in their lifetime, meaning they should be updated to Android Q in the future; it’s coming sometime around August.
The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus started receiving their second update, Android Pie, at the end of February this year. Based on Samsung’s recent updates, we predict the phones should receive Android Q within six to seven months of Google releasing the final version. We’ll let you know when we learn more about that.
