The coronavirus threat has everyone stuck at home, but that doesn't mean the music has to stop.

As a result of the coronavirus outbreak around the world, live concerns and other events have been cancelled or postponed for the time being. In order to keep the music pumping, a number of musicians are live streaming concerts from home for free. Grab your favorite pair of headphones (but don’t bother changing out of your pajamas), because we put together a list of the best free live concerts you can watch from home online!

While all of the concerts below are completely free of charge, many musicians ask for donations via Venmo or Paypal. These donations can help keep musicians afloat after cancelled tours, or go directly towards efforts to fight COVID-19.

If you don’t see your favorite artist on the list, they might still be streaming concerts on their official Instagram or Facebook pages. There has never been a better time to interact with musicians and fellow fans online, plus it can be a welcome reprieve from the constant stream of bad news.

Global Citizen’s primary goal might be to end extreme poverty, but in these times of global pandemic scares the group has sponsored a series of free concerts online. The first, featuring Chris Martin of Coldplay, can been seen above, but there are currently more than 30 mini-concerts available on the group’s official YouTube channel linked below. More concerts are added every day, but you can keep track of the latest at the Together at Home feed or by following #TogetherAtHome on social media.

Diplo

Famed DJ and songwriter Diplo is streaming live sets four days a week from on YouTube. Each stream has a specific theme, from country music to rave music, so there’s sure to be something to your liking. Catch them live from Thursday to Sunday, or watch previous sets completely free of charge at the link below.

MTV Unplugged at Home

Unplugged at home

MTV Unplugged, which has been a great source of acoustic concerts from top acts ranging from Nirvana to Shakira for more than three decades, has tweaked its format for the era of social distancing. Currently there are three short concerts on YouTube, with a new one added roughly every week. Unfortunately, you can’t watch them live, but they are unedited so you do get a similar experience to the iconic TV series.

Third Man Public Access

Jack White’s independent record label based in Nashville briefly started a series of live streamed concerts to watch from home called Third Man Public Access last month. After just two concerts, Nashville was put under strict stay at home orders, so the series was halted. Hopefully more concerts are added soon as restrictions are lifted, but for now you can watch the first two concerts on YouTube below.

Tiny Desk (Home) Concerts

NPR’s YouTube and podcast concert series has left its desk at the office and is now release concerts recorded directly in artists’ homes. This (even more) intimate environment provides an entirely unique way to experience some of your favorite artists. Concerts recorded before the crisis at the desk are still being released, but expect more at home concerts to be come out in the coming days and weeks.

Rolling Stone’s In My Room

Rolling Stone in my room

Legendary rock magazine Rolling Stone has started an Instagram TV series featuring some big name artists from a variety of genres. Most concerts are short and sweet, but they are available to stream for free from Rolling Stone’s official Instagram page or on YouTube at the button below. Expect new online concerts to be uploaded every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Live From Home

Live from here home

American Public Media’s Live From Here has canceled all shows for the time being, but that doesn’t mean the music has to stop too. A new Live from Home series hopes to fill the live music void in everyone’s lives, and you can stream all episodes right from YouTube. Most are short at just one or two songs, but there are more than 25 episodes in the backlog to burn through, with more added every week.
