Realme is at it once again. The company is diligently pursuing its ambition of launching smartphones in every price category. Its latest smartphone launch, the Realme X2, is another leaf from that diversity playbook.

The Chinese firm is also doubling down on its wearables portfolio and has launched true wireless earphones in the Realme Buds Air. Here’s what you need to know about Realme’s new devices.

Realme X2 specs

The Realme X2 was launched in China back in September and has now made its way to India. It is essentially an upgrade to the Realme XT which features the Snapdragon 712 chipset. In comparison, the Realme X2 gets the Snapdragon 730G processor with Adreno 618 GPU.

In the Indian market, the Realme X2 will face off against the likes of Samsung Galaxy A80, Oppo Reno 2, Redmi K20 and also the Redmi K30 when it launches in the country.

Other specs of the Realme X2 are pretty similar to the Realme XT. It gets the same 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint sensor. You also get the same 4,000mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge 4.0. However, it ups the charging speed to 30W compared to 20W on the Realme XT.

Editor's Pick

For software, the Realme X2 features ColorOS 6.1 based on Android 9.0, but will be upgraded to ColorOS 7 based on Android 10.

The camera setup on the phone includes a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth camera. This is the same camera configuration as the Realme XT. In our review of the XT, we had noted that it takes punchy, social media-friendly images, but doesn’t justify the high resolution sensor.

Further, the Realme X2 is capable of shooting 4K video at 30fps, while the 1080p mode goes up to 60fps.

Realme Buds Air

The Realme Buds Air succeeds the Realme Buds 2 and Realme Buds Wireless. The new truly wireless earbuds borrow their design from Apple’s AirPods. They come with a wireless charging case and boast up to 17 hours of battery life.

The Realme Buds Air feature touch controls to take calls, control music, and talk to the Google Assistant. Realme has used a custom R1 chip inside the Buds Air to reduce latency and increase power efficiency. The company claims that the latency on the Buds Air can drop to 120 milliseconds compared to 240 milliseconds on Apple’s AirPods.

In terms of specs and features, the Realme Buds Air get Bluetooth 5.0, 12mm drivers, dynamic bass boost, and dual-mic noise cancellation. An optical sensor on the earphones help them detect when a user takes them off. This allows the Realme Buds Air to pause a track when taken out of the ear.

They come in three color variants: Black, Yellow, and Blue. Realme will allow users to purchase separate single buds in case one gets misplaced.

Realme X2 and Realme Buds Air price
